Under the auspices of the Faculty of Business Administration, Economics and Political Science and the British university in Egypt, the Research Centre for Innovation, Governance and Green Economy (CIGGE) has the ultimate vision of linking industry to academia. Since 2016, under the direction and collaboration of a great team it has succeeded in implementing this vision locally and internationally through a series of numerous collaborations with the Port Training Institute at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport.

The CIGGE gained a competitive edge in; highlighting the economic development and the sustainability of Egyptian ports, recognising the Blue Economy sector growth possibilities and strategic positions in seminars, workshops, research papers, and in policy briefs tackling Egyptian ports and the project of the Suez Canal Corridor, supporting the enhancement of the Egyptian maritime fleet, and the pricing agility in Egyptian ports.

The signing the memorandum of understanding on Wednesday 2nd of March, 2022, is to encourage the collaboration in maintaining capital knowledge, innovation, as well as, logistics of maritime management between the two university bodies in areas of interest. The MOU will enhance mutual collaboration via workshops, related research in sustainable development of ports, and PRIME which the BUE faculty of BAEPS is of its signatories. Collaboration will extend in mutual opportunities for funding projects and will create a competitive edge for BUE to open a venue of collaboration in Maritime transport and research.
